Registax
Registax is a planetary, Lunar and Solar image pre-processing tool that will register, align and stack videos and image sequences.
Another of Registax’s very useful features is wavelet denoise and wavelet sharpening of planetary, lunar or stellar images. You can use the stacked image generated in Registax or you can directly import a pre-processed image into its wavelet tool.
The wavelet tool allows you to experiment with the sliders and see how this affects image sharpness and noise (in real-time) before applying it to the entire image. Several tutorials are available on the Registax website to help get you started making your images as sharp as possible while also controlling the noise.
Registax is now more often used for its wavelet sharpening features than image stacking as Autostakkert! has become the de facto standard for this, but its wavelet tools are very powerful and worth a look.
Registax was last updated back in May 2011 (13 years ago now!) and it does not appear that any new versions are going to be released soon, however, the website is still live and maintained.
Full details can be found on the Registax website.
